Concentrated, Unconstrained
Some of our strategies invest in no more than 30 companies, and are free to capitalize on good ideas around the globe, wherever they may be found. The result is a portfolio that is completely benchmark-agnostic and is able to perform well throughout the market cycle. These strategies also have low turnover, are relatively easy to follow and monitor, and have low custodial and execution costs.
Disciplined Value, Absolute Return
Some of our strategies are invested according to a strict value process which has been designed to mitigate downside risk. The incredible discipline involved in executing this very risk-controlled process has been the key to its ability to achieve positive absolute returns over the past decade. These strategies only own stocks which have a history of consistent earnings stability, low debt and high transparency and have extremely low turnover. Because they are so highly transparent, they are easy to monitor and implement at low cost to the investor.
Replacement Value
Some of our strategies frame each investment decision in terms of an investor making a build-or-buy expansion decision in a given industry, that is, each company in the universe is ranked by their replacement cost. Using this intriguing, common sense method, which has successfully added value for many years, the managers uncover pockets of value in various sectors in the emerging markets world.
